Celtic Rainforest Services
The right intervention.
A healthier landscape.
We help conservation organisations, land managers and property owners restore native woodland, tackle invasive plants and safeguard the habitats around them.
From a single patch to a complex, multi-site programme, our work starts with understanding the landscape: what needs to be controlled, what needs to be protected, and how to work carefully around both.
Our services
Specialist work.
Lasting purpose.
Practical delivery for native woodland creation, sensitive habitats and private gardens.
Invasive species management
Rhododendron, Japanese knotweed, cotoneaster and other invasive plants. From woodland clearance to follow-up control after forestry operations, we match the programme to the species, site conditions and conservation objectives.

Careful work in SSSIs, SACs, National Landscapes and national parks. Protecting native vegetation, limiting ground disturbance and planning around wildlife are central to our approach.
How we work in protected habitats ↗Invasive control in private gardens
Selective management of spreading bamboo, knotweed and unwanted woody plants in established gardens and private estates. Careful treatment around the planting you value, with follow-up for regrowth.
Care for your garden ↗Survey, planning & follow-up
Site assessment, a clear scope of work and monitoring for regrowth. We agree treatment priorities, access arrangements and reporting requirements with you before work starts.

New native woodland.
Rooted in experience.
Planting native broadleaf trees for woodland creation, habitat restoration and the landscapes of the future.
Discuss a planting project ↗
We provide practical planting teams for conservation organisations, landowners and estate managers. Our work follows the agreed species mix, spacing and site plan, with care for the habitats already present.
From winter planting programmes to scattered trees and woodland expansion, we plan the work with your project team. Suitable guards and protective cages can form part of the agreed scope.
The aim is to help native woodland establish in the right places, while respecting valuable open habitats and opportunities for natural regeneration.

Sensitive habitats
What we leave
is as important
as what we remove.
Protected sites require more than clearance. They require close attention to the ecology, terrain and constraints of each work area.
Plan a sensitive-site project ↗Native flora & faunaRecognising non-target vegetation and working around important habitat features.
Fragile ground & steep terrainPlanning access and the movement of cut material to minimise disturbance.
Targeted methodsChoosing selective techniques suited to the site, rather than applying one method everywhere.
Seasonal constraintsCoordinating the work with site managers, weather and ecological sensitivities.
In the field / Great Orme
Precision in a
protected landscape.
Our Great Orme work brings the need for careful invasive plant management into sharp focus.
Here, non-native shrubs grow amongst sensitive limestone grassland. Rare flora, important invertebrate habitats and steep slopes make selective treatment and careful handling of cut material essential.
That is the attention we bring to a site: understand the conservation priorities, identify the targets and work with care.

Established gardens & private estates
Care for the garden
you want to keep.
Control problem plants with close attention to the borders, trees and shrubs around them.
Discuss your garden ↗Spreading bamboo, knotweed and unwanted woody growth can overwhelm an established garden. We bring the same careful, selective approach used on sensitive conservation sites to larger gardens and private estates.
We identify what needs to go and what you want to retain, then agree a treatment programme around that. Methods may include careful cutting, targeted stem or cut-stem treatment, and Ecoplug treatment of suitable tree stumps.
For bamboo and other persistent plants, follow-up over successive growing seasons may be needed. We assess regrowth and adapt the programme as the work progresses.
Targeted treatment. Planned follow-up.
Our garden service focuses on selective plant control and careful handling of cut material, with the surrounding planting at the centre of the plan.
Our approach
A clear plan, from first visit
to follow-up.
01 / UnderstandAssess the site
Understand your planting or treatment objectives, site conditions, access and the features that need protection.
02 / PlanAgree the approach
Set out methods, timing, practical constraints and a clear scope for your quote.
03 / DeliverWork with care
Carry out the agreed planting or treatment programme with site-specific risk assessments and careful methods.
04 / ReviewCheck & follow up
Agree any establishment checks or further treatment needed as the project progresses.
Methods explained
Selective cutting & stump treatment
Cutting target woody plants and treating the cut surfaces where appropriate. Ecoplugs may be used for suitable tree stumps. These targeted methods are assessed around the surrounding vegetation and site conditions.
Foliar treatment
Applying treatment to target foliage where this is suitable for the species and site. Timing and application methods are chosen for each management programme.
Stem injection & cut-stem treatment
Applying treatment directly to suitable stems or cut surfaces. Cut-and-fill can be considered where appropriate for the target plant and permitted by the product instructions. The method is assessed as part of the site-specific programme.
Manual removal & clearance
Hand removal or cutting where appropriate, with a plan for handling the resulting material and avoiding unnecessary disturbance.
